The Best Non Toxic and Organic Dog Beds of 2023
I love seeing people grow more and more conscientious about what they buy their pets, particularly when there’s so much crap out there that’s not sustainable or kind to the earth or its inhabitants. That’s why I was excited to round up the year’s best non toxic dog beds and organic dog beds. It’s a great way to live more sustainably while being mindful of your and your pet’s health.
I have to say, though, that this post is a little bittersweet for me as I’m coming up on the 1-year anniversary of losing my dog, Georgia. She was the last in a long line of pets I’ve had over the years, and I’m constantly feeling the pull to get another furry companion. But I know the reasons don’t justify that action.
Thing is, I think I’m wanting to channel all the love I have for the pets I’ve lost through the years (dogs, cats, rats, turtles, and fish), and I’m not in a position to take on another pet right now due to cost and other responsibilities.
And a big reason – I just don’t think my heart can take another loss any time soon.
I still have all three of Georgia’s beds. She basically had one for every room of the house she spent time in and I still can’t bear to part with them.
I bought them later in (her) life because when she was younger, she shredded every single one she had. I eventually gave up. Until she got too arthritic to lie on an old, recycled comforter. I didn’t think it was enough to support her.

I absolutely love the esthetic of Yaya & Company, particularly their organic dog beds. They have a vintage/retro look to them, which is my weakness.
All of their products are made sustainably, and materials are ethically sourced, whether they are manufactured in a responsible way or recycled/upcycled.
First up is one of their natural dog beds made with certified organic cotton and certified recycled polyester. The outside is a jute basket weave (very 70’s)!

I first stumbled upon Bean Products’ organic dog beds via Amazon. And it does seem as though they’re one of only a few companies on Amazon with an organic dog bed option at the moment.
All Bean Products (including their furniture and dog beds) are made with sustainable and organic textiles like pure hemp, organic cotton, organic latex foam, buckwheat hulls, recycled poly fiber from plastic bottles, etc.
And they steer clear of toxic chemicals, preservatives, dyes, and so on. You can feel confident about any of the products you choose for yourself, your home, or your pet.
